"This is the official handbook for Financial Peace University. If you are following Dave's teaching, you already know what is in this book. But if you're new to Dave this is the book for you." -- from publisher's website.

A few years ago I was listening to this guy on the radio. He was very passionate about not getting yourself into debt, or taking out a loan for a car. He had gone through some financial turmoil himself. After climbing out and building his business, Dave Ramsey launched Financial Peace University. Last black Friday I picked up his Complete Guide To Money. This is the handbook for the class and an incredible guide to financial peace and victory.

This book takes you through Dave’s 7 baby steps. You start out by saving $1000 and then move into paying off debt, building a real savings account, and investing for your future. Each chapter is designed to teach you a new aspect of his system as Dave guides you on your path to financial peace. He also backs it up with scripture and talks a lot about Proverbs. As a Christian, I appreciate this.

The one thing I like most about his approach is the peace aspect. You can’t have freedom without peace. Dave has you pay yourself first and then takes you through essential payments after that. Your mortgage, your cars, your utilities, food, gas, etc. Things you absolutely need to live. It make sense from a common sense stand-point. It also gives you a sense of peace before the next paycheck.

If you’re in a bit of trouble or just trying to figure out a better way to manage money, this book is perfect. He doesn’t hold back and he backs up all he says with personal stories and education on finance 101 topics. It changed my life and it can change yours.
